We're all for limiting our spending for our wedding. We have a budget that we're going to stick to, but if we can spend less, great! Whenever I find a giveaway or promotion that interests me, I've been all about it. For example, I entered this honeymoon giveaway (which you can enter once a day until June 30) because could I use $2000 toward any Marriott hotel in the whole world? Um, yes, please!
Anyway, so when a friend in my graduate program told me that her photographer friend, Christina Gressianu, was giving away FREE engagement photo sessions, I was all about it. Christina is working on a project called "100 Kisses in NYC" and here's what she has to say about it:
"1 Big Idea, 2 cameras, a handful of days in New York City, and 100 Kisses. The Big Idea is to document an enduring commitment to love in this city that non-New Yorkers think is so cold and unfriendly. So I’m offering free photo sessions to engaged or married couples in NYC. Everyone who participates will get high-res files of their photos and a free copy of the book when it comes out."
I think it sounds sweet! I would love to be part of a project like this. And, we get the high-res files of our pictures! Why not?
So after making sure Steve was okay with it, I set up an appointment to meet with Christina this Thursday. And then I went online and looked for a new dress. Because, of course, you need to wear something new and pretty when you take engagement photos!
Isn't it cute? I found it on the Anthro website and went during my lunch break to try it on and it fits sooo perfectly. I love it! It's fun, flirty, whimsical...exactly the type of mood I want our engagement photos to have.
I'm excited! I have no idea what to expect from this, but I plan to go, have fun and show my love for Steve. In the off-chance that I'm not happy with the way the pics come out or something, I'll just set up an engagement shoot with our own photographer, which we were considering doing anyway.
When I get the pics, I'll be sure to share them!
p.s. if you're engaged, in NYC, and reading this, email Christina! She's still looking for couples to shoot!
