OMG! MY MOH IS ENGAGED!!!!

My maid of honor just got engaged! I couldn't be more excited. It happened on Friday night (5.15.09) and her wonderful fiance set up the perfect surprise proposal. It went like this:

They both had dinner plans with friends that night, which had been set up weeks earlier. He came to her apt to pick her up and after she asked him if they should take the bus or the train to the dinner, she walked outside and saw a LIMO in front of her building. The limo driver was standing outside with balloons and a sign that said her name. Then, he got down on one knee and proposed! She, of course, said yes! The doorman and some passerbys witnessed it and clapped. THEN, her PARENTS came out of the LIMO! Another surprise! After hugs and pics, the newly engaged couple went with her parents to have drinks at a restaurant, and then they headed to that dinner with their friends.

But wait, there's more!

He had emailed ALL of her friends in the area (and even ones from out of town) and told them they could come to her favorite bar to surprise her after the engagement happened. So basically I knew about the proposal for a week and a half. Let me tell you, it was REALLY hard not to talk to her about it, especially because as you know, my brain is filled with wedding stuff! Finally, the night arrived and we all waited in the back room of the bar. When they walked in, she was even more surprised to have all of her friends in one room! We girls RUSHED over to her and insisted she tell us every. single. detail. Which she did. Then, celebration! We had drinks, we took pics. It was awesome.

And now my best friend and maid of honor is engaged. Seriously, I'm sooo happy. For them to be getting married, and also to be planning our weddings at the same time. How fun will this be!

Now I can pass along my wedding blog obsession. Ha.
