Last Sunday, my three lovely bridesmaids and I went dress shopping and they purchased their dresses! My mom joined us as well. After a nice lunch together, we went to Priscilla of Boston, where the girls tried on every short satin yoryu dress in their wine color. We narrowed it down to one favorite at that store. Then we went to J. Crew Soho store*, where the girls tried on every silk chiffon dress in their spiced wine color. I left the final choice to them. I told them that they could each wear a different dress or the same dress, as long as it was within the same fabric and color. I knew either way they'd look great, and I just wanted them to be happy with their dress.
So what dress did they choose?

They each ended up wanting this dress and the color and silhouette look amazing on them! They love the color, which makes me happy because I love the color too. This dress color has been a huge point of inspiration for me, so I'm glad it'll be at my wedding. And, they were able to get the dresses at a great price. They are normally $165 but because there were students and teachers in our group, they were able to get 15% off! That discount only works for in-store purchases, but because we had an appointment in their bridal salon, they were able to use it. The dresses shipped straight to the girls' homes with no extra charge, and they only took a few days to deliver. MOH L even ordered a couple of sizes and she'll return the ones that don't work.
It was such an easy process and it was really nice to see the girls all together. Bridesmaid D and Bridesmaid M both live out of town so I haven't seen them in a while. We had so much fun at lunch and shopping and I'm really excited to have these girls by my side on my wedding day :o)
As for shoes, I told them they could wear whatever gold shoes they wanted. They've already sent me some ideas and they're all really cute! Funnily enough, the girls and I have the same taste in shoes--none of us like wearing super-high heels! Here are some of the short gold heels they're considering:
I think the berry color of the dresses and the gold shoes will fit in nicely with our cranberry lemon color scheme, without being too matchy-matchy. The yellow flowers they'll hold will also look pretty against the dresses. Things are coming together!
*NY Brides: The J. Crew Soho store was the only store in the area where you could try on their wedding and bridesmaid dresses, but now they are opening a separate bridal boutique this summer on Madison Ave! For more details, click here.

Gorgeous dress and cute shoes, too! You're so lucky to have a J Crew near you with the bridal stock. Sounds like it was a fun and productive day :)
