L's wedding was so much fun and I loved being part of it. As a bridesmaid, I had a backstage view, plus I got good idea of what it'll be like to be a bride in less than two months. In this post, I'll tell you about the wedding and in my next post, I'll share a few things I took away from the experience.
The day for us bridesmaids started at 2:30pm, when we met at the venue where L and her then-fiance B were having both the ceremony and the reception. I arrived with my hair already done (I did it myself) and my dress/shoes/accessories in tow. When we got to the venue, L was there with her hair and makeup done and she looked so beautiful! When it was time to slip her dress on, she realized that it was too big. She must have lost weight in the weeks between her last fitting and the wedding, probably due to stress. Luckily, the bridal attendant that the venue assigned to her came through. She broke out safety pins and body tape and fixed the dress so it stayed on L for the night. It was a mini-crisis that ended up well, and turned out to the be only thing that "went wrong" the whole night.
After getting our makeup done and putting our dresses on, the other b-maids and I witnessed L and Groom B's first look (which was adorable!) and then took pictures. L and Groom B got all of the bridal party and family portraits done before the ceremony, which was great because they were able to join their guests during the cocktail hour.
Right before the main ceremony, L and Groom B had a ketubah signing, which the bridal party and parents witnessed. I'd given my camera to Steve to document the wedding, so my pictures start with the main ceremony...

Groom B walking down the aisle with his parents. I loved his mom's dress.

Me with one of the groomsmen. It was my first stint as a bridesmaid and it was awesome. I was a little nervous right before we started our walk but I just cheesed it up with a huge smile and it was fine.

L with her parents. She looks amazing!

L and her groom had a traditional Jewish ceremony so the first thing they did was walk around each other seven times. Here, L's mom helps L hold her train. Isn't her mom's dress stunning?
Love the way Groom B is looking at her :)

L and Groom B under the
chuppah. The chapel has a skylight so the late afternoon sun streamed into the room.

After the ceremony...the bridesmaid dresses looked great!

My feet were killing me at this point! Standing in one spot for a half an hour does that to you--no matter how comfy your shoes are!

Steve and I at the cocktail hour, where I gorged myself at the various stations. Thank goodness that dress left room for dinner, ha. See that necklace I'm wearing? It was L's gift to all of us bridesmaids. It was a simple sparkly silver circle, which I loved and will definitely wear again.

The tables at the reception. Classic and beautiful.

Gorgeous centerpieces...

The cake. It was SO GOOD. I ate so much at cocktail hour that I didn't eat much of the actual dinner. But I ate all of my cake. Mmm... See those flowers in the background? Those were actually leftover centerpieces from the wedding the night before! Since they matched L's centerpieces, the people at the venue placed them around the perimeter of the room. It was really nice...and free!

The newly married couple!

L and Groom B had taken dance lessons and did a choreographed routine to Michael
Buble's "Everything," which the band performed.
OMG it was so cute. L held out on me! We'd been talking about our weddings nonstop to each other for a year and she'd kept the lessons a secret. It was an awesome surprise :)
And then of course with it being a Jewish wedding, it was time for the HORA!

Groom B's face is priceless!
Hold on tight!
The hora was soo much fun! Everybody was on the dance floor.
After the hora were a couple of toasts. L and Groom B at their sweetheart table...
Getting down on the dance floor! I don't even know what song we were singing but I love this picture. The band was awesome and we were dancing and singing along all night long.

Steve made me get a picture of him wearing his yarmulke. Ha.
Steve and me. All night, I kept thinking--we're next!

I love this girl and was so happy to be part of her day!
Cake time!

Such a sweet couple...
Daddy daughter dance to "My Girl."
Mother Son Dance...I can't remember what they danced to.
That's it for the pictures! It was such a fun and memorable wedding.
Congrats to L and Groom B!!!
