When we booked the photo booth with our photographer, I asked if we could provide our own fabric because I didn't want the photos to be in front of a plain black backdrop. He let us know what dimensions the fabric would need to be, and my mom suggested I check out the Joann fabric store website. My mom likes to sew and she goes to Joann all the time. After some searching by color, I was able to find the perfect print to match our cran-lemon scheme.
{source}It totally goes and was even on sale! I ended up finding a coupon online that made it even cheaper than the sale price. Score! I like it a lot and think the small print won't look too overwhelming in the photos. My mom's going to take the yards of fabric and sew them into one big sheet for the booth.
After the wedding, my mom said she could sew it into something for me and Steve to keep. I'm thinking pillows and/or curtains that we can use in our future house. My mom does a little interior designing on the side and she's great at making pillows and curtains that rival those at Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, etc. I think it'll be nice to have this fabric somewhere in our home in the future--and we can remember our awesome photo booth.
On another note, I've noticed some of my fellow bridal bloggers posting to-do lists lately and they're making me realize even more how much I have left to do! I'm not going to post a list but I'm going to try to blog more often about what we're accomplishing. This weekend alone, I have a makeup trial, my first dress fitting and a florist appointment. And tomorrow, we're at the two month mark...

I love that fabric! It will definitely be more fun than going with a plain backdrop. And reusing it after the wedding is a fabulous idea, too.
ReplyDeleteAwesome find! My mom is sewing together several fabric shower curtains together to make our backdrop - yay for moms with sewing skills!

ReplyDeleteAhh the dreaded to do list! How it haunts me every night in my dreams and every day in my thoughts! Anyway back to the fabric...ummm PERFECT it will be great for your theme and ties to the invites for sure!
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect! So love photobooth's - it will be so much fun!
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric! And so great that you can have it made into something as a memento of your day!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome idea! Love that it will be re- purposed after the wedding into something you and your hubby can enjoy and use! Great pattern and color :)
ReplyDeleteThat fabric's really pretty. It'd make a great duvet cover!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric. Bright and fun and obviously goes perfect with your colors. I also incorporated our colors into our photobooth. The company provided a good array of solid colored backgrounds so I had them start with the turquoise and then switch it half way through the night to the cranberry red. :) And great idea to make something out of the fabric afterwards!
