Around the time that my dress arrived at the dress shop, I'd noticed a lot of brides on wedding blogs wearing boleros. I saw them in different colors, fabrics and styles and loved the way they looked with the gowns. Since we were having a Fall wedding with an outdoor ceremony, I thought a little extra coverage on my shoulders wouldn't be such a bad idea. I thought I might get one off Etsy, but when I went to try my dress on, I asked the consultant at the shop to show me the boleros they had. She brought this out:
{source}I LOVED it! Remember my obsession with fluffy fabric flowers? When I saw this bolero, I knew it was perfect for me. I tried it on with the dress and and they went so well together. The bolero wasn't exactly cheap at $300, but since my dress wasn't so expensive (for a wedding gown), my mom and I decided I had to go for it. For a while during my veil debate, I considered wearing the bolero all day but then once I decided to wear a veil during the ceremony, I planned to switch into the bolero before cocktail hour.

I took off the pearl necklace and veil, left the hair flower and added the bolero. In the top photo, you can see what the French bustle looked like. And here's what it looked like on our big day (all guest photos):

Dancing with my dad :)I absolutely loved wearing the bolero. It made me feel so glamorous and pretty, and I got a ton of compliments on it. I wish I had an excuse to wear it again!
p.s. I found out today that our professional photos are ready! I should receive them by this weekend. I can't wait to see them and show them to you. I hope I love them as much as our engagement photos. In the meantime, I'll tell you about our honeymoon!
