Over labor day weekend, I had a makeup trial. It was actually my second trial but I didn't post about the first once because though I liked the way the makeup turned out, I didn't love the makeup artist (MUA) himself (our personalities didn't mesh well) so I didn't end up booking him. The first MUA was a friend of my
hair friendor, so once I realized that wouldn't work out, I had a short window of time to find other affordable and recommended MUAs that would be able to travel out to the hotel where I'll be getting ready. Luckily, because I'm getting married on an
unconventional day, many MUAs are available and I made a trial appointment with the one I felt most fit the style I was looking for:
Stacy Doolan at About Face Artistry.*
The trial went SO well. Stacy was so sweet and easy to chat with and I knew I'd enjoy having her around our hotel suite on my wedding day. And the makeup turned out amazingly! Here are some pics** (I forgot to take a "before" photo but you can just imagine what I look like makeup free...)
These photos were taken in Stacy's backyard (her studio is in her home).
Close up...I love the colors. She used airbrushed makeup (at no extra charge!) and gave me fake eyelashes, which I loved. They give a little extra drama without being too much.
Better shot of my eyes and lashes.
This lighting in this picture isn't the greatest, but the makeup (with the exception of the lipstick, which I'll have on hand to touch up throughout the wedding day) lasted all the whole day. This is about eight hours later. I'm so pleased with how it turned out and glad I decided to go with a professional MUA!
*Check out these photos of Stacy's recent *surprise* vow renewal ceremony! Her hubby didn't know that she'd planned the ceremony, which included their two young sons. Stacy looked gorgeous and the pictures of the ceremony are so sweet!
