Being a Bridesmaid: My MOH's Bridal Shower

A few weeks ago, I went to my MOH L's bridal shower. As you might remember, L is getting married in August, a couple of months before me. Her mother planned a beautiful shower at one of their favorite restaurants and it was so much fun! I had only been to one other bridal shower before, and that was years ago when I was in high school. I barely remember anything about it. This time, I went as a bridesmaid, ready to support the bride-to-be and make sure she had a perfect afternoon.

Here are a few pics (all personal photos):

The tables...the flowers and favor bags tie into L's wedding color scheme, navy blue and pink.

A close up of the centerpiece. So pretty!

Me with the bride-to-be! We've been close friends since the eighth grade and I'm SO excited to be there for her wedding!

The yummy cake (I photo-shopped her name out)

L holding the cute favors: a mini notepad (VERY her, as she carries these around all the time) and a bag of personalized m&m's that had her shower date.

After yummy lunch and before opening gifts, we played a game. Bridesmaid H, who was in charge of this, created a personalized version of scattergories (L's favorite board game) and called it "shower-gories." Each table competed against each other and it was a lot of fun, even though I suck at this game, haha.

Gifts! I don't have any pics of her opening them because I was busy with my bridesmaid duty of writing down who gave her what. She got a lot of really nice stuff off her registry! I ended up not getting her anything off her registry. I got her this personalized stationary (with her new last name, since she's changing her name) from Minted.com:

I also got her this bridal-themed set of bath stuff from Philosophy:

The scents all have to do with weddings, like cake, champagne and the bouquet. Cute, right?

After the gifts were opened, L played one more game. Bridesmaid H had asked her fiance a bunch of questions about L and their relationship and L had to guess what he answered. Her fiance dropped by the shower at this point so he was there to see what she guessed. It was very entertaining!

Another thing her mom organized was a scrapbook that each guest contributed to. She had all of the guests bring in an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet with a message to L and/or pictures. She put each page into a scrapbook filled with empty plastic sleeves. I had the chance to flip through the scrapbook and every one's pages were really sweet. It'll be a great memento for L :o)

Overall, I had a wonderful time at the shower and I hope mine in a few months is just as fun!

  6. My sister made a scrapbook for my bridal shower and mailed the guests two cards - one with a fave recipe and one with words of wisdom, well wishes or advice. They put them in the scrapbook as a gift to me...very sweet.

It was obvious that pink was the huge theme of this shower...so pretty :)
