Since Steve and I designed our invitation on our own, we wanted to keep it somewhat simple. We're not graphic designers, after all. But we still want them to look nice and professional, so we pulled inspiration from around the web. By the time we sat in front of the computer to create the design, we'd decided that it needed to have the following elements:
- Our cranberry-lemonade colors. You're shocked, I know...

- Playful fonts. We love the look of various fonts on an invitation, working together to create a unique look that's fun to read.

- Patterned Graphic: We browsed through istockphoto.com and found the perfect wallpaper vector. With some tweaking in illustrator, we got it to match our color scheme.

Now that the design is complete, I think we did a good job, if I do say so myself! I'm not going to post pictures of the invitations until after they've been printed and delivered to our guests, but I'll share the rest of the process along the way. We still need to select paper, actually print them, and figure out what to do with the envelopes. I'd love to have all of this done by 4th of July weekend. Here's hoping everything goes smoothly!

Ooh, I'm kind of seeing how they'll go. Looks like they'll look really unique and have really pretty elements!
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine how gorgeous they'll be when they're done. Now you have me waiting impatiently. JK
