Let's Talk Shoes.

My MOH, L and I are planning to go shoe shopping together, since her wedding is just two months before mine. She suggested we go to My Glass Slipper in Manhattan since they have tons of bridal shoes. Some (ok, most) are too expensive (I'm trying to keep it to around $100 or less) but there are some seriously cute shoes out there! I've also been looking around online.

I only have one criteria for my shoes: they have to have a short heel (less than 3 inches) or be flats. I'm not tall (5'3'') and Steve is tall (just under 6'0'') so if I wanted to, I could wear whatever sized heel I want. But I HATE wearing high heels! I've started to get rid of the high heels in my closet in exchange for low heals or flats and my quality of life has improved dramatically! :o) Maybe it's because I live in New York City, where I walk everywhere or take the train instead of driving, but as cute as they are, I always hate wearing them. I don't like when my feet hurt and I'm one to complain when I'm uncomfortable.

As for color, I love photos I've seen of brides wearing colorful shoes. But since I'm weird and a bit obsessive, I'd want them to be the exact shade of cranberry that I love. I couldn't just go with just any red. I don't even really like red. But I love cranberry. So I'm keeping my eye out for ivory/champagne shoes (to match my champagne dress) or shoes that I could dye. So far I've seen more ivory shoes that I like. Here are some that I've bookmarked:
LOVE THESE! Why, oh why are you $298!

Cute and more affordable, but not sure pearls go with my overall look.

I realize I have a thing for bows...

Knots are nice, too...
Also too much $$ but LOVE the fluffy fabric flower!

The heel height is right, but the price is just wrong...
Also lovely...and too expensive

Cute AND the price is right!
They're kind of boring (and the designer could have come up with a more exciting name, too!) but they could be spiced up with a shoe clip...

What do you think? Have any other suggestions for me? I found out the other day that my wedding dress will be here mid-March (yay!) so I think I'll start seriously looking for shoes then, after I get to see my dress again in person. I ordered the dress in a different color than what I tried on so if I do stick with ivory shoes, I'll know what shade I should get (I told you I'm a little obsessive! But seriously--white shoes and champagne dress would look weird, no?) I'm pretty psyched to try my dress on again, since the last time I saw it was when I purchased it back in July!

  2. Great pics! They are all cute, but I especially love the pearl flats (and I'm not usually a flats girl, though I feel your pain about living in a city, walking everywhere and using public transportation in heels). I think white and champagne may look a bit off - it's good you're getting a head start now!

  3. My fave are the Nina Culver Evening Sandal! And they look ivory/champagne in the pic (right?).

  4. @Chocolate Lover: Yup! They come in ivory and powder. And, I think they are dye-able, so even if I wear them in ivory for the wedding, I could make them another color after so I could keep wearing them!

  5. I love the Nina Paladin! So pretty! I am with ya on the heels. I am short and so is my FI, so no stilettos for this girl!
