I hope every one's had a nice start to the year! I unfortunately woke up on New Year's Day with a head cold. Gee, thanks 2010! I'm still blowing my nose and coughing now, but hopefully the year (and decade) will improve from here!
Anyway, I thought I'd give you guys a quick update on what we've been up to. In the almost two weeks Steve and I had off from work, we got a lot done. Let's see...
- First of all, our holiday cards were a HIT! Seriously! We mainly gave them to family members and they were all blown away. I guess when you look at professional pictures all day long on these wedding blogs, you take them for granted. Well, we were flattered and it made me even more excited that Windau is photographing our wedding!
- We are thisclose to being finished with our website! We're designing it through iWeb (on Steve's Mac) and we just have just a few more details to add before we make it live. I promise to show you screen shots once our guests see it for themselves.
- We ordered our 50 free save the date cards from Minted and also designed our save the date email for the rest of our computer-savvy guests. We used the same picture and similar wording for the two designs, but the email design ties into our website more. Below is the Minted design we chose for our printed cards (though the finished product looks different since we were able to customize it). I'll show you the finished products once they're sent out!

- We registered! I'll elaborate more in another post but let's just say that running around these two stores in Manhattan (and traveling from one store to the other in the frigid cold) was exhausting! But it was also fun and I'm glad we got it out of the way.
That's it for now. It's really exciting to finally be in our wedding year and that much closer to 10.11.10. Yay for all of us 2010 brides!
Also, thanks to PartyPlannerGal at Perpetual Party Planner for the shout out! She passed on the Kick-Ass Blogger award:

I'm supposed to give it to 5 other bloggers, so I've chosen:
You guys rock! I love reading your posts :o) Enjoy and be sure to pass this on to 5 more kick-ass bloggers!

Aw wow...thanks for the nod. You're pretty kick a$$ yourself :)
ReplyDeleteYou know, I've gotta admit... I was a tad bit skeptical when I first started hearing about Save The Dates going out as holiday cards (or something similar). But its an idea that seems like its totally taking off!
ReplyDeleteYours look great! I'm sold!
Well, our holiday cards were seperate from our save the dates...so those family members (15 people or so) will be seeing our faces twice, ha. But thanks! :o)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting registered...we're halfway there. Two down, two to go.
ReplyDeleteThank you my friend!
ReplyDeleteI would love to hear more about your registering process, Ryan and I REALLY need to get on it.
Congrats and thank you for the award!
ReplyDeleteYour holiday card picture was so cute. We are also "this close" to finishing up our website, it is almost done.
