As you may remember, I went shoe shopping with my maid of honor (who is also getting married a couple of months before me) a few weekends ago and after going to a few stores, including a specifically bridal shoe store, neither of us found exactly what we were looking for. When I got home, I did some online searching and found a few I thought I might like to order and try on. But nothing really excited me. I started to feel discouraged, especially because there were so many cute shoes out there but they were just too high! I was really trying to stick 3-inch heels or lower...
Then I remembered my love for fluffy fabric flowers, and the inspiration photos I posted in this post.
Hello?! The second picture was of SHOES!
I absolutely LOVE the flower clips on these shoes, and I realized that I could easily find a pair of affordable, low-healed neutral shoes to pair with them. After a bit more Internet searching, I found and ordered these:
They are less than $100, only 2-3/4 inches tall but still look classy, and I was able to get free shipping (and return in case they didn't work out) by ordering them through Endless.com. Score!
Then I went onto B. Poetic's Etsy shop and ordered the silk shoe clips from the photo above. They are made from ivory vintage silk, which I thought would look nice with the shade of my dress, and of course the nude heels.
Two days later, I had the shoes. They are really comfortable and the shine of the nude patent leather looks great! I just had to wait for the clips. Unfortunately, the seller went on vacation right around the time I put my order through so I had to wait until she got back. Finally yesterday, I received this package:
(All of the following photos are by me)
I quickly opened it up and saw these:What's that? TWO sets of flowers? Well, what happened was I had emailed the seller to inquire about the shipment of my shoe clips. Since she wasn't able to ship them before she left for vacation, and didn't get to email me to let me know, she included a little something extra in my box. It was really sweet of her! Purple is my favorite color too so it was an awesome surprise.
Anyway, back to the shoes...
I got my nude pumps out, clipped on the flowers and voila: wedding shoes!
I love them! They fit my shoe criteria exactly, the flowers are just so fun and I didn't have to break the bank to get them. In total, the shoes were $69.95 and the shoe-clips with shipping came out to $40. For $110, I was able to create a look that's completely me. Plus the pumps are completely re-wearable (which a pair in ivory might not have been, since not many occasions call for ivory shoes...) and I can clip the flowers to any of my other shoes after the wedding. I'm really excited about them, and happy to have this task done with. They also arrived just in time for my first dress fitting this Saturday so I'll be able to see how they look with my dress.
As for the flower pin B. Poetic included?
I pinned it to my sweater today and it's so cute!
Yay! Next, I'll tell you about bridesmaid dress shopping...
