Pretty Veils...

Thanks for all of your comments on my Veil-less Brides post! I agree with you that I don't need a veil to be a bride, and I'm leaning toward not having one. Just thinking about my dress and type of accessories I want to wear, I don't think the veil will be necessary. If I had one, I'd only wear it during our 30-minute ceremony and I wouldn't want to wear a blusher. I tried on veils with blushers when I bought my dress, and the blushers made me feel weird and not like myself. My maid of honor is wearing a beautiful veil for her wedding, and it has religious/cultural significance for her Jewish ceremony. A veil doesn't have that kind of meaning for me, so I'll probably go without.

When I really want a veil is when I see pictures like these (all from the Weddingbee Gallery):

So pretty! The long ones are my favorite. I love it when they flow in the wind!

  1. I just finished my veil, at least the first part (I'm planning to bead the crap out of it), and I love it. But I also don't have a ton of hair, so I felt like I needed some extra fanciness going on on my head. It was like, $5 for the supplies, so I figured, money well spent. I'm not doing a blusher, but some of those pictures make me want one...

  2. I love the look of long veils, too! I don't think it would work with my dress, though. I can't wait to see what you decide!

  5. Those photos are really pretty. I didn't want a veil either, but then my Mum gave me hers to wear. I ended up loving it. Really felt like a bride.

  6. I've got a...duster, I think it's called. Just below the shoulders? Anyhoo, it's cute and after thinking that maybe I wouldn't wear it, I definitely will...I felt like a bride when I put it on.

  7. Yup, like you...I'm not wearing my veil for anything more than the ceremony and no blusher. But I do adore those pics you posted. Unfortunately, my veil is not that long at all. I am sure you'll be gorgeous no matter what.
