Some time ago, I realized my love for wood grain. The first time I saw it incorporated into a wedding was with Weddingbee's Mrs. Apple Cider's gorgeous wood grain invitations.
Besides the lovely design and the colors Apple Cider chose, I just loved the texture of the paper and thought it would work so well for fall. I even looked up where she got her wood grain paper and considered printing our own invites on it. (You can buy it here or here.) Then I thought about the others ways one could incorporate wood grain into a wedding. I scoured the Internet and Etsy and came up with the following:
I love the subtlety of these white wood-grain invites.

I love the use of wood as a pedestal for the centerpieces, and the wood-grained vases.
How about wood-grain cuff links for the groom?

You could use this card to write a note for your honey to read the morning of the wedding.
Of course, you can have wooden signs...
In the end, we ended up going in a different direction (which I'll share with you) so I don't think we'll have a wood-grain motif. Though I'd love to find affordable birch tree vases (or vase covers) so our centerpieces can look something like this:

If you happen to know where I could get cheap birch tree wrapping (even if its fake), let me know! I might just use this birch paper template from the wedding e-zine, Utterly Engaged, to wrap around the vases. I could still wrap them in twine...

Anyone else love the yummy texture wood-grain like I do? Or are you incorporating any other motif into your wedding?

Love the wood grain! Mrs. Apple Cider had some lovely invites, for sure. My fiance's roommates (now married) wrapped their centerpiece vases in birch - I can ask them how much they paid for their wrappings and where they got them for you. I'll let you know!
ReplyDeleteThe wood-styled cake looks incredible! This would be a really fun theme!
ReplyDeleteThat cake looks awesome! I love wood in general so this adds an awesome touch to a wedding.
ReplyDeleteSo many great ideas! I love those invites & the cuff links :-) We are incorporating Acorns and other Fall themes in our October wedding
ReplyDeleteThose cufflinks are awesome. You've rounded up some great wood inspired shots!
ReplyDeleteCool! I was looking for Fauz Bois white dinnerware a while back. I think Pottery Barn used to have it, but I dont know who makes it anymore.
